since i'm getting so many -- there's no fibre channel for mpe replies <sigh> --
let me try to say it again....

i *know* there's no fibre for mpe (geesh!). i know that in the recent past the
only way to get from a 3000 to a xp256 was to do a scsi-to-fiber
conversion..fibre..fibre..fibre...the a fibre-to-scsi conversion (again) prior to
going into the xp. (rather a pain, if you ask me...especially if the xp doesn't
have any scsi connections (which they can have, btw)). i heard at hpworld --
which i'm currently considering a *rumor* (even though i heard from a csy person)
-- that things have changed and the 2nd conversion is no longer required. that
is, once the signal has been converted to fibre you can go fibre all the way to
the xp. i hope that's more clear....

so, does anyone know for sure? - d
