Nope, a lot of us probably aren't familiar with the 918. But those of us
who did tell you about the key in the service position (okay, I said
maintenance position) weren't all that far off were we?

A lot of you aren't familiar with the 918 are you? Stop telling me
to put the key in the SERVICE position!

Key Position for the box: at least for newer series the key must
show to
SERVICE to enable CTRL-B
We got stuck for a while for an HP-UX K-Series ...

.. kinda along this same line.... for some reason I am unable to do
a
CNTL-B at the console of my 918 to reset the system. CNTL-A works
fine. I
have to power cycle the box to do a reset. Would a
SHIFT-[BREAK/RESET KEY]
reset this function? That doesn't seem to be working for me. TIA
BTW Stan - OOPS!

Hi,
So, I'm about to add some memory to one of our HP 3000s. I reach
over to
turn
off the power strip (each of our 3000s and 9000s has a powerstrip
dedicated
to it,
and clearly labelled).
...and I flip the wrong strip's switch to "off".
Panic!
Wait...
Since it was for a 3000/927LX, I just turned the power strip back
on, and
the system came with with a "power fail" message at the console.
Sigh.
