The light is likely from the port supplying DTR. If the DTC 48 does not,
it may be due to the profile specifying direct connect instead of modem
connect. Either way, though, it should work. Compare your profile for
the port on the DTC 48 to the one on the DTC 16 (or use the same profile
file).
