At first I thought, "Ah, ha, now we know where all of the 1929 First
Growth Bordeaux wines have gone," but having read Bob's reply to Bjorn's
post (I still haven't seen Bjorn's post), I'm beginning to suspect either a
lack of free trade in Japan or watermelons weighing in at around 800 lbs.
($.19 a pound is the highest price I've ever seen for watermelon, and that
was for the seedless variety).

No wonder Detroit is in the doldrums when a bushel of apples is worth
about as much as a new car, and maybe Esau was a sharp trader when he
swapped his birthright for a bowl of potage. Though there's hardly ever a
time when I'd rather be home than traveling, tonight I'm going to double up
on my uni and toro orders and smile at getting a bargain.

John
