OK, the ENV files I offered are at www.wenet.net/~ktpierce/ENVfiles.html .
I haven't experimented with the download routine yet, but binary ought to
work. I think the ENV files can be stored in just about any format on the
HP3K (mine are labelled TTYPE but they're NOT TTYPE files(!)), and as such
they may not work for directly attached MPE serial devices(?) but I dunno
why not. Just be sure you don't add a bunch of trailing spaces or anything
else you don't want sent to your printers (Nulls are OK but a waste of
time).

YES. Use ENVironment files, which are just files, the magic being that
they're sent to the printer in front of a normal spool file. When you do

:file myreport;dev=LP;ENV=myenv
:run mypgm

myenv is passed to LP right in front of myreport.

And yes, I've improved upon the Minisoft-supplied ENV file samples
(foolishly using the same names). Since I don't have my HP3Ks available via
FTP, I'm trying to stick them on my personal website, but don't really know
what I'm doing. So if anyone's willing to go to
www.wenet.net/~ktpierce/index.html and check out the source (don't worry, I
built it with Notepad and it's pretty tiny) and show me how to properly make
the contents of www.wenet.net/~ktpierce/ENVfiles visible, there's already a
fully functional LJ132DGB sitting there waiting for whoever wants it.

I tried <a href="ftp://www.wenet.net/~ktpierce/www/ENVfiles/*.*">HP PCL
'env' files</a> but of course it doesn't work. Help?
