We are using an HP8100DN to print some fair sized print jobs from our
HP3000. Occasionally the printer jams, which we deal with, but the problem
comes from the 8100 starting to print again after the jam is cleared. It
will restart printing not one or two pages before the jam, but will restart
tens or hundreds of pages prior to the jam, so these pages have already been
printed. Sometimes, depending on the print job, it will restart at the
first page. This not only wastes time, toner and paper, it causes problems
for the user in that he/she needs to go through the print job to check for
duplicate copies and there could be any number of duplicates, 2 or 200 or
more.
Is there any setting on the 8100 that would allow us to change the buffer
size or whatever is causing the high reprints? Is there a solution?
Thanks,
Karl
