I have already had HP replace the supportlink modem. One thing to know is
that the modem in on device 21 which is not on a DTC, but plugs into the
back of the CPU, like the console. Also, my modem at home works for hours
to my ISP, ATT Worldnet.

Mike,

Sounds like maybe the support modem is defective. Have you been able to log
in to the support modem with other modems and stay connected?

I'm having a problem keeping a connection from my home PC to our 3000. I'm
using the following:

HP Pavilion 6355
lucent win modem version 5.75 driver
   reflection version 7.00

connecting to
HP 3000 995/500
   MPE/iX 6.0 PP2
   HP Supportlink modem
      part # 50759-60005 (a Multitech MT1932ZDX)

Invariably, I stay connected for only 5 or 7 minutes before I'm
disconnected. A second and later logon soon after stays longer, but will
eventually disconnect. This does not happen to our other modems (Multitech
MT2834BA), but those modems are kept down. Any body got any clues?
