Gee, Mike has given a pretty good description of Transact/iX:
... plus I will of course give in to temptation and add:  Transact
is a fully-procedural, "3-1/2-GL" that doesn't cost both arms and
both legs like Cognos...

...  just my not-at-all-humble opinion....       ;-)
