My suggestion would be to use Supertool to create a table of unused entries
and use it to delete base on the table. No programming. Quick to write. Fast
to run.

What about the zero-programming solution:

  Use Aadager to make the master an automatic master (which will
  delete master entries with no associated detail entries),
  and then turn it back into a manual master.
