This link should be able to help you. Good luck and let us know.

Be extremely careful and don't come crying to me if you burn something or it
fails.

If it fails, I would look for the CMOS battery which I would remove overnight.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

Subject: OT: Help with IBM Thinkpad

One of our more knowledgeable users has had someone set a power-on password
on his IBM ThinkPad notebook. He says it wasn't him (and I believe him for
several reasons). The manual says that if you forget your password you have
to take it to an authorized service rep. Out here in the sticks, we don't
have any of those. Does anyone know how to reset the password? I assume it
is similar to resetting on a desktop unit where you apply a jumper to a
certain connector and that erases the EPROM/CMOS memory; but I don't know
where to strart on this IBM unit.

Thanks,

Jim Phillips Manager of Information Systems
