Another IIRC : on some newer PC's there is a power saving option in
the BIOS that has a time limit on it. If the PC remains *idle* for
that time limit it slips into power saving mode. Which means the NIC
doesn't respond when queried by the HP3000 as to whether the
connection is still active and viola...DISCO-nected.
Don't take me to task on the above, I dealt with that problem some
time ago so the details may be a tad fuzzy.
