%filter "listf @[log in to unmask]@(ondevice(bad_disk)),6","." >$null
%calc mpexprintlinesfound
How it works:
%filter <cmd>,<search> performs the command, then does a "print;search="
on the output
in this case, the "search" term is a single dot, which is "guaranteed" to
appear in every line of a "listf,6" output
the actual %PRINT command is redirected to $null [since we don't care
about it, it could just as easily be redirected to a real file for use as an
"indirect fileset" when you get around to storing/restoring the file(s)]
the %PRINT command sets a JCW to indicate the number of lines found in a
;SEARCH= clause
[or, if you saved the output to a file for use later, the EOF of the file
would be that number as well...]
