Isn't there also an ENQ function defined, that allows either client or
server to ask the other to repeat it's last ACK / NAK, among other abilities
to attempt to resynch the conversation? Assuming that things are a
conversation, half-duplex, one side of the conversation can ask the other to
either repeat data or repeat an acknowledgement. For an application running
on a private network, assuming that network is not beset with problems (been
there, done that, the T-shirt was made out of thistle), aren't there ways to
manage the conversation?
