It's appeared for about a week that HP3000-L's Listserv policies have been
set to strip attachments without notifying the sender.  Now it appears that
*.txt attachments ARE allowed, which seems safe enough; I'm ok with that.
(Doesn't cut down on actual traffic, but nicely compartmentalizes messages
without forcing me to run dangerous MS software.)

But there have been several cases of attachments being stripped which seem
to leave the senders dumbstruck - reasonable, since they (probably) don't
receive copies of their own postings.

Can Listserv be trained to notify the recipient when forbidden attachments
are stripped, possibly being so smart as to say "Your *.pdl attachment was
rejected; only *.txt attachments are accepted by this list."?

I know this was discussed and the current policy WAS announced as it was
implemented, but after seeing a few iterations of real life examples, I
think refusing the mail entirely would be better than quiet partial
acceptance.
