Same thing here at another shop.  The only exception is that the in-house
powerhouse people were better than the Cognos people.  There were still occations
where I had to write something in Transact that they couldn't do in powerhouse.
Just to be fair though, powerhouse could pop out those simple little reports just
a little bit faster than I could write them in Transact. (not much faster, but
fast enough that I wouldn't even mess with the small stuff.)  And, those reports
would be neatly formatted.  Is that worth huge prices when it come time to
upgrades? ..... No, but that is my opinion.
