That is true. One really neat thing about the I/O slots in the 932 is that
each one would accept CIO cards, NIO cards, memory arrays (IIRC only a
handful would accept the CIO cards though). Furthermore, the memory did not
have to be in contiguous slots either. I expect this configuration was
against the official HP specs too, but it does work.

We have successfully booted a 948 system from both SCSI and FW-SCSI. Since
the 948 was a board upgrade from a 932 the chances are better than even that
it could boot SCSI as well, with the proper firmware as Stan noted.
