Do you have another backup of the same database, either months or years
before/after the tape you restored.  You could try restoring the root from
the other copy.  If the database had not been modified (dataset size, keys,
items, etc), then the root would be the same.  Even if the database had been
modified, only those datasets that were modified would potentially be
inaccessible.  Also, with a "corrupted" root file, Adager may be able to
"fix" the database.
