Dave,

I never use QTP to access KSAM files, either CM or NM (as the indexed subfiles
are).  It's incredibly slow.  Switch to Quiz and you'll be amazed at the
difference.  I don't know why there is such a difference.  It might be worth
calling into Cognos.
