Hi Chris,

perhaps it helps to have a quick look at

'search the archives' and look for keyword 'wiemann' dated 2000-01-24.

Depending on the system's CPU power and IO bandwidth I would try using
MAXTAPEBUF, LOW (!!!) software compression of TurboStore and DLT's hardware
compression to get good backup performance but ... as I said ... it depends.
