I haven't had this problem, but I don't regularly use the CD anymore. I
have a mix of HPUX and MPE, and have found it to be a royal pain to swap
CDs, not to mention share them with others, so now I just copy the entire
things to my hard drive. Edit one simple .ini file and I have access to
both MPE and HPUX, for however many versions I want at one time. For our
programmers, the contents are on the LAN (I don't point there for the simple
reason that I might not be connected when a problem occurs).

Subject: MPE 6.5 release AND Instant Info CD
I have not received MPE 6.5 yet, but Gavin's statement about the CDs
accompanying the tapes reminded me of a question that I've been
meaning to ask
this list.
It seems that every time I insert any of the Instant Info CDs into
my PC, in
order to perform a search, I have to go into a DOS window and issue
the command
"D:\pcinstall\setup.exe /locate" (this is from memory now..) before
I can use
the 'search' panel (This is true even if Instant Info's CD was the
last CD used
on my PC). This was/is not the case with LaserRom.
Have I overlooked some setting or is this the 'accepted' method for
performing
searches with Instant Info.?

I was impressed to see that the tapes came along with not only a 6.5
version
of the Instant Information CD-ROM, but a new CD-ROM containing all
the PDF
format manuals from Jazz!
Very nice touch.
