Wayne, Easy ones!
1) when the console buffers fill up because it's waiting for i/o on the
console to be completed (the operator his space so no more output can come
to the console until Return is hit)
2) when the machine is speaking ENQ/ACK protocol, but the terminal isn't.
You need to use ^F (ACK) to keep the conversation moving.

1. How does an operator manage to crash the system using only the spacebar
on
the system console?
2. When do you need to use CONTROL-F repeatedly?

And when a customer calls you up saying they're in the process of rebooting
their Series III and it's hung and nothing is happening, what do you tell
them to do?
Or what happens if you idly play with the System Switch Register (switches
and lights) while rebooting your Series III?
The problem with the 3000 world these days is that it's old and stagnant
enough that virtually *everyone* is an "old timer" to one degree of another.
What we need in the 3000 community are more new users who *don't* know the
answers to trivia questions.
