Perhaps some pc report/graph generator and ODBC would do the trick. We use
ms access and MiniSoft ODBC driver

Subject: OT: PC-based package for graphical reporting
Greetings, fellow listers.
My OT Topic for today is as follows:
I've been given a well thought-out, carefully organized missive from
Senior Management to find a reporting package supporting a multi-page
formal spec. Then, I awoke from my nap!
What actually happened is somewhat more typical. I've gotten a request
to find what looks like a 'what if' reporting package that:
- Will import delimited files
- Will produce the ever-popular bar/pie chart (aren't pictures
what matters?)
- And, most importantly, will allow 'on-the-fly' changes so you
can, for example, change values on a an axis from, say Sales per $1
million to
Sales per $2 million, click your pointing device and
have a new chart.
I may have to look at some Cognos Client-Server offering, but I'm hoping
there might be something more reasonably priced.
TIA!!
