>> Does anyone know any good resources(web) for learning COBOL?

When you have prior experience with another programming language,
it might work to examine the HP 3000 COBOL/iX manuals. This approach
did work for me (maybe I should duck now and wait for comments about
my COBOL skills ;-) in the past.

Notice that the COBOL/iX Reference Manual gives an overview of the
language, program structure, alphabetic reference, etc. whereas the
COBOL/iX Programmer's Guide is structured around various topics,
like file access or calling subprograms or intrinsics. These two
manuals make a good team when used together. The web versions might
be handy for stealing example source code by cut & paste.

The HTML versions are at http://docs.hp.com/mpeix (look in the 5.0
manuals area), PDF versions are at http://jazz.external.hp.com in
the papers section, if I recall correctly.

Lars.
