still just sit there.
Our last thought is to reboot after the devclass change.
Seems extreme I know, but whatchagonnado?
Nothing else works, and HP is stumped along with the rest of us.

Try doing a SHUTQ 6 command. I think the spooler automatically wants to
spool LP to LDEV 6. I may be wrong but doing a SHUTQ can't hurt you. I
used
to have to do this after every reboot of the CPU.
