Since it's a serial interface, I don't see that there is a problem using it
on a 3000 or a 9000.   There is an easier/cheaper way if you have an old H
or E class with a mux card though...

Connect the serial consoles to the MUX box with null-modem adapters.

Open kermit sessions to the serial ports on the mux in HPTERM windows on the
server.   Since you can export the display to any Xterminal, you can bring
the console up on any computer running an X client, including a PC, and
still have full control, including CTRL-A and CTRL-B.

I have about 7 Hp3000 systems set up like this (along with one Hp9000) and
find it to be superior to the HP central web console, in functionality as
well as since it cost me only an old E55 that I had collecting dust, it was
definately more cost effective.  Now I can reboot my 995 from home without
making the 45 minute drive through the snow. :)
