I would check the syslog.conf file that's in /SYSLOG/PUB.  Look at the
entry that appends to the log file.  What the message is saying is that
syslogd is not receiving any messages from "host".  Between looking at
/SYSLOG/PUB/syslog.conf and hosts.net.sys (or hosts.arpa.sys), you can find
that "host" is.

now, the 'last message repeated' message is repeated over
and over and....  is simply halting the job sufficient to
straighten this out?  also, what does 'host is down' mean,
exactly?  i want to say who is syslog talking to...of
course, none of you could really answer my question :-)  so
i'll say *where* do i check....what am i looking for...to
