Geez, you were *rich*. My first regular (non-contract) programming job
was for my father, again when I was in high school. He paid me
$0.50/hour. After I finished the programming on a system for which his
firm received a mid-five-figure fee, I requested a raise to $2. Somewhat
to my surprise, I got it.

Of course, he also threw in room and board.
