All I know is that I worked for RCA Service Company of Arizona for
$1.00-$1.50/hour, 1959-1963, and $1.75/hour for Johns Hopkins
University/Applied Physics Laboratory, 1963-1966, and still had enough cash
saved up to buy a brand-new 1964 turquoise-blue, fastback Mustang, without
having to finance any part of it, even after paying my tuition, residence and
meal fees at our local state university.

A dollar used to actually go a fair ways.
