I have got the opinion "you have sold your soul to that devil in Redmond
Washington" from Mr. John Beckett.

When I was asked to judge the possible directions of migration,
I wrote an essay to the National and International Atomic energy Agency.

                                         Main advantages disadvantages
I investigated the following directons:
1. To MPE iX or HP UNIX/Newer Image Smooth migration Highest cost
                                         reusable source few experts
                                         reliability
2. Oracle under MPE iX or Windows
3. Visual Prolog under Windows Long term history Not
                                                             well-known
                                         under various opsys

4. MS Access under Windows Flexible planning Unreilable
                                         Most wide-spreaded

The outer force that moved us to the "devil" was that the IAEA in Vienna
made a system about radioactive sources "Rais" in Microsoft Access. Our
insitute had not money for the migration. The IAEA supported us only if we
chose Access.

If I were a boss having control enough money, I would choose Visual Prolog
under anything else but Windows.

                                Such is life

You need three virtues in the life:
1. strength - to change the things which are changeable,
2. patience - to endure the things which are unchangeable,
3. wisdom - to distinguish the above two kinds of things.
