Softball Lady Mocs Split With Lady Vols

<< Congratulations to the Lady Mocs and thanks to all the new and old faces
at the ball game last night. The campus family was represented very well with
faculty, staff and students. Thanks for your support! >>

The Chattanooga Lady Mocs took a 3-0 loss to the University of Tennessee, but
the Lady Mocs softball team earned deserved payback during game two of its
doubleheader Wednesday evening at Jim Frost Stadium.

The Lady Mocs rode freshman Beth Alexander's three-hit pitching to a 3-2 win
in front of 1,055 fans at the one-year-old facility.

Alexander improved to 10-6 by dominating the UT hitters in all but one
inning, striking out eight and walking only one for the 31-13 Lady Mocs. Her
only trouble spot came in the fourth, when the Lady Vols sent seven batters
to the plate, got their only three hits and nearly stole the game.

The Lady Mocs next home contest is this weekend versus Furman. Doubleheaders
start Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM.
