Hello, everyone,

If you haven't done so yet, please take a look at the new UTC Writing

The Writing Center, located on the ground floor of Holt Hall, is staffed by
engaged, committed students, both graduate and undergraduate, focussed on
enhancing the sense of community for student-writers throughout the campus,
at any level, and on providing direct, one-to-one tutorial support. The
staff members in the Writing Center do NOT correct or "fix" student
writing. They strive to provide a non-evaluative environment (i.e., no
grades) in which students can become more aware of their own writing
processes and find strategies for improving their work at every step (from
the initial stage of attempting to uncover ideas and information) to the
concluding stage of providing polish to a completed assignment.

I encourage you to help make students aware of this extremely important
academic service. Members of the faculty might consider giving the URL to
students and encouraging them to get familiar with the Center in that way,
as well as in person. If you have questions about the Writing Center please
