June 21, 1999 is the day summer begins. The day will be nearly 15 hours
long here. At the north pole the Sun seems to move the full 360 degrees
around the horizon. The latest sunset here is on June 28. We are the
greatest distance from the Sun on July 6. Cool huh!

The Observatory is open every Friday at 8:15pm. We will be glad to explain
this to you. See http://www.utc.edu/~jonesobs for a map.
