Good morning all,
This tip may look a lot like last weeks but the percentages are higher.
Percentage of Degree Requirements - Part II
NCAA Bylaw 14.4.3.2
The NCAA requires: A student-athlete entering his or her third year of
collegiate enrollment have completed at least 40%* of the course
requirements in the student's specific degree program. (The requirement is
60% at the start of the fourth year and 80% at the start of the fifth year.)
I.e. a student-athlete must declare a major to be eligible for practice or
competition by the start of the junior year and have passed 40%* of that
declared majors requirements to be eligible to compete.
All student-athletes entering this fall (2003) and after are in essence
required to know what they are going to major in when they get here, (and
stick to) in order to meet satisfactory progress requirements for their
junior and senior years.
*This 40/60/80 percentage only applies to students enrolling after to 8/1/03.
As always if there are any questions please contact me.
