To All Instructors:

OK, OK! We admit it. This semester's Psych O'Cinema feature is another
romantic comedy with a cast of current pop hunks and hunkettes.

But, after the physics, metaphysics, philosophy and religion topics
examined in last semester's feature, and with Valentine's Day season
upon us, why not? And, is the movie necessarily without merit as an
educational tool? Is the theme a serious and relevant comment on
anything important about human development? Well, add "why or why not"
and you've got a good essay question right there!

The Last Kiss involves a group of late twenties and early thirties
friends in relationships of varying depths. It also depicts a married
couple one generation removed who, believe it or not, have their own
relationship struggles as they near the end of middle age.

Each stage in relationship development, from infatuation right on up to
true intimacy, is represented and examined.

So, we welcome your encouragement of your students to attend this movie
and group discussion. The event is February 20, (Tuesday) at 5:30 in the
Raccoon Mtn. Room. As always, if you would like to require attendance or
provide extra credit, we will provide a sign-up sheet and even come up
with some objective and short-answer exam questions at your request.
And, as always, you are encouraged to attend yourself and participate in
the discussion.

Contact the Counseling and Career Planning Center or email
[log in to unmask] to request a .pdf file to circulate to your students
or, better still, post in a conspicuous place in your department.

See you there!
