Hello Folks,

I wish to extend congratulations to UTC senior Naoki Ishikawa. In
Columbus Ohio in late October this year, Naoki won, for the second time,
the Percussive Arts Society International Snare Drum Competition. This
competition, open to anyone of any age, was truly international in scope
and unquestionably establishes this UTC senior as one of the best snare
drummers in the entire world.
If you would like to hear Naoki perform his winning solo (written
by him; at his level nobody composes pieces which are this difficult) your
best opportunity is at the "Beat Hunger" concert tonight at 8:00 in the
Hayes Concert Hall.
Again, the "Beat Hunger" benefit is the UTC Percussion Ensemble,
directed by Monte Coulter, and the suggested admission is a 2 dollar
donation to the Community Kitchen, or two non-perishable food items. You
will hear Naoki and many other talented percussionist/drummers who will
perform music on percussion instruments exclusively. There will be a guest
appearance by Dr. Nick Honerkamp on Fender bass guitar, and a spendid time
is garanteed for all.

See you there, and Congratulations Naoki!
