On behalf of the entire University community, I wish to thank the members of
the Facilities Division, Campus Police Department, McKenzie Arena, and
Safety and Risk Management staff for their outstanding response and tireless
efforts to restore normalcy to the campus during and in the aftermath of the
tremendous storm system that hit our campus Wednesday evening.

While some parts of the campus received heavy damage from large falling
trees and rushing waters, no one was injured and our facility damages were
kept to a minimum.

Many of the members of our response team left their own families and homes
to return to the campus and worked tirelessly through the night.  For their
dedication, commitment and sheer love of this place, we all stand eternally
grateful.  The next time you are out on campus or have the opportunity to
engage these staff members in your workplace, take a moment to say thank
you!  They deserve it for a job well done!
