Dear Faculty,
Some of you have asked about sending mid-term grades to your students by
email. Doing so does not violate the privacy of a student's educational
record under the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
However, if you decide to do this, please send the grade to each individual
student ONLY through that student's UTC email address. UTC cannot assure
security for any other providers, such as Yahoo or AOL.
