To all jazz fans:

Don't miss the Statesmen of Jazz, who will play at 7:30 pm on Sunday, Feb. 5.
Yes, I know it's the night of the Super Bowl, but if you love jazz, which 
one will leave
you more satisfied...a blowout on the field stretched over 5 hours, endless 
commercials
and a halftime consisting of rotten lip-synced pop music, or hot jazz by 
the likes of:

Warren Vache: cornet
Houston Person: tenor sax
Wycliffe Gordon: trombone
John Bunch: piano
Bucky Pizzarelli: 7 string electric guitar
Earl May: bass
Jackie Williams: drums

? You can always videotape the game and watch it at your leisure later.

As a veteran jazz critic and collector, all of these artists are well 
represented in my
jazz library. I thank Bob Boyer of UTC Fine Arts for booking this band and 
I hope you'll
join me by turning out for this evening of great jazz.
