It's Time for Career Crunch!

 

For the seventh consecutive year, over 3,000 eighth graders will begin
to consider their future careers and the education required for those
jobs through an award-winning Chamber program called Career Crunch.

 

 

 

The Chamber, in partnership with UTC, Chattanooga State and Hamilton
County Schools, sponsors this two-day job fair to make an important
contribution to our community's young people, as well as to the
development of a workforce that will benefit our community in the
future.

 

 

 

This year Career Crunch will be held on November 13 and 14 from 9:00
a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Chattanooga State Gym.

 

 

 

During the event representatives of business, industry, and higher
education man booths that provide information about careers in their
fields:  the education or training required, the duties involved, and
the salary range the careers offer.  The students have prepared
questions to ask, and they are eager to talk.

 

 

 

Career Crunch differs from traditional job fairs by targeting students
just as they prepare to enter high school.  Eighth grade is the ideal
time for youngsters to begin to think about the types of careers they
might be interested in and to gather information.

 

 

 

Vendor tables for this event are $85 for outside companies, but
University Departments can host a table for free. Lunch can be purchased
for table representatives @ $7 each.
