SCRAPPY (the student list), UTCINFO, and UTCSTAFF are publically posted on
the raven archives. This was done as a public service and in respect for the
Tennessee open records law.

Some raven mailing lists are archived (and some are not) and some are
publically listed (and some are not). The choice is essentially up to the
owner of the mailing list.

This is similiar to what many other universities do with mailing lists. For
example, you can see UT Knoxville's mail list archives at:
http://listserv.utk.edu/archives/index.html or Notre Dame at
http://listserv.nd.edu/archives/index.html

You can also search the combined catalogs of archives of many mailing lists
across the world at the Lsoft web site: http://www.lsoft.com/catalist.html
(Lsoft makes the listserv mailing list software that is run on raven.)
