Enjoy fall in Chattanooga with the following DOWNTOWN events happening
through Monday, October 28th

The 2002 Folklife Demonstration Series presented by the Chattanooga Downtown
Partnership begins on Monday October 21st in the MILLER PLAZA WATERHOUSE
PAVILION from 10 Am until 4 PM. This event is free to the public and made
possible by Hawkins Partners, Inc., The Read House, WTCI Channel 45, and
WDOD 1310 AM. The featured artists on Monday and Tuesday include traditional
potter Hugh Bailey, and through Wednesday is corn shuck artist Helen Harmon
Cargile. The Northside Neighborhood House will demonstrate Quilt Making
techniques from Wednesday through Friday. Joining in Thursday and Friday is
Wayne Bateman who will demonstrate the art of chaircaning. For more

>From now through November 8, the AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM presents the
Phyllis Stephens exhibit, "A Stitch in Time", a collection of tapestries and
story quilts. Please call 266-8658 for more information.

The downtown CHATTANOOGA-HAMILTON COUNTY BICENTENNIAL LIBRARY will present
"Presidents Politics and Power: American Presidents Who Shaped the Twentieth
Century" on Tuesday at 7:00 PM featuring president Lyndon B. Johnson.  Dr.
Clifton Cleaveland will lead the new film discussion series, which will
feature a different president each week for six weeks. For more information

The AAA Travel Show is on Wednesday in the COMMUNITY THEATER at the MEMORIAL
AUDITORIUM. This show is free to the public and begins at 7:30 PM. Please

Hear live jazz music downtown at the JAZZ JUNCTION this week with the Andy
Hagan Trio on Wednesday, Dave and Richard on Thursday, and the Andy Hagan
Quartet featuring Wilfred Middlebrooks on Friday . On Saturday is a special
event featuring two shows with Freddy Cole. For more information please call

The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera will present "Turmoil and Triumph" in the
TIVOLI THEATER on Thursday and Friday at 8 PM, with Robert Bernhardt
conducting and presenting special guest pianist Michael Chertok. Please call

In appreciation of the years of support, the Chattanooga community is
invited to join in on Krystal¹s 70th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday at
Miller Park, featuring a free lunch consisting of two Krystals and a Coke,

Sigma Gamma Rho presents Miss Rhomania in the TIVOLI THEATER on Saturday at

The DESIGNERS WORKSHOP INCORPERATED presents emerging artist from the
Chattanooga area. Sandi Abney, Keith Abney, Carl Roberson, and Tim West will
be featured in a show opening on Saturday from 5 to 10 PM. Please call

Visit CHATTANOOGA HOMEGROWN, an open­air market between Coolidge Park and
the Chattanooga Theater Center each Saturday from 8 until 11:30 AM, with
fresh produce, demonstrations by local chefs, and live music. Please call

Enjoy the Chattanooga Market each Sunday through December 22nd from Noon
until 6 PM in the CRICKET PAVILION. The Market features regional and local
artists, fresh regional produce and cut flowers. The Market Café opens at

The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera will present an ensemble of chamber music
by American Composers at the HUNTER MUSEUM on Sunday as a part of their
continuing 50th Anniversary Celebration. For more information please call

Hopeville will come to the MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM on Sunday at 7 PM. This
Gospel concert features Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams. All seats are

The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Youth Orchestras present "The Journey of
Sir Douglas Fir" on Monday in the TIVOLI THEATER at 7:30 PM. Advance
reservations are encouraged. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $8 for senior
