In response to the several phone calls and emails I have had I want to
clarify my message of Tuesday.

While primary web services have been moved to a new host, ALL addresses
using 'www.utc.edu' will continue to work indefinitely. If something does
not, please let me know and it will be fixed. We need to maintain usage
of this style address, as it is beneficial to project a common community
and of course many people have it on printed materials, bookmarks, etc.

The intent of my earlier message was only to point out that a correctly
designed web page does not have it's own server specified in any of it's
links, but that seemed to be what confused people. I just ask you try
to take out the servername from links that is on the same server, the
next time you work or edit on a web page.

We have made another change so that the name you see in the browser
address line will remain 'www.utc.edu' if that is where you started, just
like it did before this week. It will no longer change to cecasun.utc.edu
as many people had noticed. There is no need to change printed web
addresses (URLs) to "cecasun", just leave them as
http://www.utc.edu/whatever/...

Thanks for your time and attention, hopefully this was simpler to
understand!

Be sure let me know if something on the UTC web site doesn't work.

-Dan
