I would like to thank Julia Cronin for not killing me for suggesting a
meeting of support staff en mass . The idea definitely generated a buzz via
email that beguiled Julia to work overtime on the ERC's efforts to represent
the needs of the non-exempt staff during the Chancellor's Q & A session on
the 11th. I think it is fair to anticipate that she has done an excellent
job.
In response to someone requesting I be the one to push for such a meeting, I
don't think it is a matter of pushing. We can have it, if we want it. We
always could and I think that's the point. There are resources in place
for us to meet and discuss and vote and have a voice if we choose to. We
need to not be afraid to use them, or too complacent, for that matter. I am
booked this week, however, if folks want to try to set up some
meetings/forums in the future to discuss staff needs, let me know. We can
do it.
Thanks again to Julia for her hard work on our behalf.
