I should have mentioned this in my earlier post about the amazing $1,524
deal on a Dell Pentium III: So far as I understand, that price is available
only for institutional purchases, not personal buys.
However, Dell has almost as sweet a deal for $1559 for a 450Mhz Pentium
III, 9GB hard drive, 17" monitor, CDROM, and sound. A Zip drive would be
around $79 more. This is "e-value code" 04089-500515 (mention this if you
call or enter the code into the web site at http://www.dell.com to go
directly to this system). That's a nice price and more system than most of
us will need for a while, just not as amazing as the offer made to UTC.
Incidentally, if I were buying for home use, I'd spring for the additional
$50 or so for a DVD instead of the standard CDROM.
