More about the Author:

Kristin Henry was born in Tennessee in the U.S.A. but has made her home
in Melbourne for the past forty years. Her work, which includes fiction,
non-fiction and reviews, has appeared in many literary journals. She has
published four collections of poetry, the most recent of which includes
a CD of her reading accompanied by music. She's not a singer, but
sometimes enjoys playing around with a song-like rendering of a poem.

Her poetry has been called 'accessible'. She's just glad if anything she
writes touches another person. Her subject matter is pretty much the
human experience. Not landscapes. Not animals. Not science. It's the
frail, transcendent fellow struggler that fascinates her.

Kristin has always loved reading for a live audience. She's done this
for the past twenty-five years in hundreds of venues from universities
and theatres and art galleries to pubs and busses and used car
showrooms.

She also enjoys encouraging others to write. This has taken her all over
Australia and allowed her to work with word lovers in a variety of
situations. As well as fostering the talent of rural women and older
writers, she has tutored people with all sorts of special needs -
physical, mental, emotional and financial.

Kristin is a former Director of the Victorian Writers Centre, and past
president of the Melbourne Poets' Union. She is currently teaching
poetry and short story writing in the Professional Writing and Editing
course at one of Melbourne's colleges.
