Hello,

On Monday, November 19 at 8:00 pm, the UTC Percussion Ensemble, directed by
Dr. Monte Coulter, will present BEAT HUNGER 2001. This is an annual
percussion ensemble concert which raises food for the Chattanooga Area
Community Kitchen. The "Beat Hunger" concerts, which began 6 years ago,
and have raised literally thousands of dollars and truckloads of food
donations, have become a traditional beginning of the Chattanooga holiday
giving season.

The UTC Percussion Ensemble, which is performing a Terrace Concert at the
Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Nashville, TN in
November, is made up of percussion students at UTC, and performs literature
specifically composed or arranged for percussion instruments. Works
performed will include Vince Harris's "African Funk Dance", Bob Becker's
"Mudra", the Allegro movement from Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik", and
other works.

The 6th annual "Beat Hunger" will be at 8:00 pm, in the Hayes Concert Hall
in the Fine Arts Center on the UTC campus. Suggested admission will be a
two dollar donation to the Community Kitchen, or two non-perishable food
items.
