Bob Wynegar and Dr. Steve Kuhn have recently been awarded $225,804 by
the Tennessee Department of Education Goals 2000 program. They will use
these funds to provide a combination of pedagogical training and state-of-
the-art technology to sixty middle and high school Algebra I teachers from
a consortium of nine school districts.
>
Drs. Wynegar and Kuhn anticipate that the combination of pedagogical,
technological, and content-based professional development will have a
significant positive impact on the teaching of Algebra I, the subject that
Tennessee has identified as the most crucial course in the Secondary
Mathematics curriculum.

Congratulations on your award, Bob and Steve, and thank you for
the service you will provide to local teachers and students!
