Dr. Richard Jackson of the English Department was awarded $1700 from
Chattanooga State Technical Community College to help fund the 2001-2002
Meacham Writer's Workshop.

The Meacham Writer's Workshop allows for interaction among visiting
professional writers and local aspiring writers. The workshop results in
encouragement and creative exchange between aspiring and professional
writers. It is free and open to the public. In the past few years, the
Workshop has expanded to include programs with several local high schools,
such as CSAS, Performing Arts, and Red Bank.

Congratulations to Dr. Jackson for receiving continued support for this
important event that brings together members of the Chattanooga community
and UTC.
