We are in the process of hiring tutors for the GEAR UP after-school
program.  Positions are also available for in-school tutoring.  Details
of the program are below.  Please forward this message to any students
who may be interested in working with our program.
 
The GEAR UP Program is currently accepting applications for tutors to
work in area middle schools. Tutors will be working after school with
6th and 7th graders helping them with their reading and math skills. The
pay is $7.00 an hour for freshmen, sophomores and juniors.  The pay is
$7.50/hour for seniors and $8.00/hour for graduate students.  

 

 

The hours are Monday-Thursday 2:05-5:15 p.m. for six weeks.  We have a
few positions with work hours of 3:50-6:00 p.m.  The program will begin
with staff training the week of January 22 and after school tutoring
will run through March 8, 2007.   

 

We also have in-school tutoring positions with flexible hours available.

 

Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students of all

Applications are available NOW in Metro Annex (directly under Student
Health Services). Our offices are open Monday-Friday 8-5.

 

Please note that credit for a field placement for Education classes may
be available.
