Bill,

I have again checked the U.S. Government Warning site about travel to
Colombia that I recommended to you before your trip. The information there
is "current as of today, Mon May 21 2007 15:15:26 GMT-0400 (Eastern
Daylight Time)", and which is found at
http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_941.html, and is
worrisome. I would also suggest that you read the "Safety and Security"
section of this other
link: http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1090.html. I
don't want to be an alarmist, but with violence at such a high level, I
cannot see why we would want to encourage anyone to go there. We do not
allow our students to engage in study abroad in Colombia because I consider
that it would be to much liability.
